CHAIR’S MESSAGE

It is my absolute pleasure and privilege to be serving as the new chairperson of the Fredericton Community Foundation, and to have this opportunity to communicate with our donors, grant recipients, sponsors and friends. Welcome to our website, where you will find just about anything you might want to know about the Fredericton Community Foundation and what we do.

Our mission is “…to enhance and strengthen the quality of life of the citizens of the Greater Fredericton Area…”. We do this by making financial grants to many organizations across diverse areas of interest in our community, such as health and wellness, arts and culture, social services, education, heritage preservation, and the environment. If you are a charitable organization in need of financial support in any of these areas, please click on the grants link on our website or contact us for further information. In the past 6 years, the Fredericton Community Foundation has granted over $1 million to many worthy causes in our community.

Of course, this would not be possible without effective fund development and disciplined asset management. In spite of continuing volatility in the financial markets, our “stay calm and carry on” approach has served us well as you will see in the update from the Investment Committee included in the Annual Report, which will soon be available by clicking on the Publications link on this website. By pursuing a proactive fund development process, the Fredericton Community Foundation will be able to increase our granting capacity and thereby increase our impact in the community. If you are considering a gift to the Fredericton Community Foundation, we offer a variety of giving options and fund types to meet your needs and interests. Together, we can help you create a legacy so that your gift will have a positive impact in our community for years to come. A gift of any amount is significant and valuable in the work of the Fredericton Community Foundation!
