Youth Advisory Council

The Fredericton Community Foundation believes that young people care about others and their community. As such, the Foundation offers youth in grades 9 to 12 the opportunity to have a voice in the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing youth in our community through their Youth Advisory Council (YAC).

The YAC has a role in assessing the needs and concerns of youth in our community, participating in building a perpetual youth endowment fund, and recommending grants to important community projects that are initiated by, or intended for youth. With the support of an Adult Advisor for the Fredericton Community Foundation, youth leaders of the YAC are the key decision makers in everything from running their meetings to making grants to youth oriented projects.

Across Canada, youth have found YAC’s an effective way to make a difference in their community. If you would like to be part of the Fredericton YAC please contact the Foundation office.
