News Release
PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR AWARD
January 15, 2010
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS – DEADLINE MARCH 15th
Philanthropy is often defined as the voluntary giving of time and financial resources to promote the well-being of human kind. If charity begins at home, philanthropy begins in the community through individuals, families, corporations and youth. The Philanthropist of the Year Award will help us recognize those who make philanthropy a part of their contribution to the community.
The Fredericton Community Foundation (FCF) will celebrate philanthropy in our community by hosting the first annual Philanthropist of the Year Dinner in 2010. We are inviting nominations for the Philanthropist of the Year Award from the community. If you know an individual, family or group who has contributed time and financial resources and has done outstanding work to improve our community and inspire others, please submit a nomination form.
Nomination criteria and forms are available on the Foundation website under PUBLICATIONS, by request from our office or via email. Deadline for nominations is March 15th, 2010. A special awards dinner will be held on June 4th to recognize the Philanthropist of the Year with guest speaker Frank O’Dea.
