$296,685 Awarded to Eight Community Service Organizations

This fund is a collaboration between the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada to fund community service organizations, including non-profit organizations, indigenous governing bodies, or registered charities in Canada. The Community Services Recovery Fund responds to what community service organizations need right now and supports organizations as they adapt to the long-term impacts of the pandemic.

The Fredericton Community Foundation is supporting the following registered charities, serving as vital parts of our community in the greater Fredericton region:

1. Digital Accessibility: Internal Systems & Process Improvements - Beaverbrook Art Gallery - $62,500

To enhance the digital accessibility of Beaverbrook Art Gallery’s offerings, this project expands upon the 2020 digital strategy. The objective is to strengthen online capacities and processes, optimizing gallery systems for the digital realm.

2. Strengthening Connections Through Enhanced Online Communications - BBBS - $33,000

This project is strategically devised to fortify the project's social media presence and introduce a contact management system featuring e-newsletter, e-thank you, and e-receipt communication tools. This advancement will significantly enhance their ability to attract and retain mentors, donors, and supporters, both presently and in the future.

3. Advancing How We Deliver Services - Family Enrichment & Counselling Service,s Inc. - $20,000

The project aims to help Family Enrichment gauge client satisfaction, regardless of service delivery method. By acquiring electronic devices capable of gathering and evaluating outcomes, we ensure ongoing client satisfaction and meet their needs effectively.

4. Donor Management, Fredericton Arts & Learning, Inc. - Charlotte Street Art Centre - $16,500

The Charlotte Street Arts Centre will procure a donor/volunteer management application. As the organization's donor and volunteer base expands, they recognize the opportunity to integrate technological assistance for their supporters.

5. Accounting & Financial Upgrtades - Fredericton Boys & Girls Club, Inc. - $31,100

The project involves enhancing the organization's accounting systems through advanced technology, ensuring a more efficient process. This upgrade is crucial for aligning the organization with its objectives by modernizing accounts management, employing cutting-edge software and hardware, providing initial support, and delivering staff training.

6. Modernizing The Patron & Employee Experience at The Fredericton Playhouse - Fredericton Playhouse, Inc - $23,585

Playhouse is implementing a new paperless employee scheduling system and time clock, procuring new ticket scanners for performance events, and automating payroll processing. These enhancements are anticipated to streamline management processes, enhance team communication, reduce paper usage, and optimize patron service

7. Merger of Library Charities - Fredericton Public Library - $10,000

The Friends of the Fredericton Public Library, a charity that helps the library, will join forces with the Fredericton Public Library Board. They'll still work as a group within the Library Board, raising funds to support the library's projects while cutting down on paperwork and costs.

8. Non-Profit Data Collaboration: The Community Prosperioty Hub - Greater Fredericton Social Innovation - $100,000

This initiative fuels the modernization of the local nonprofit scene, fostering collaboration, boosting data literacy, and guiding informed decision-making.

In partnership with these organizations, we're forging a stronger community that evolves, adapts, and thrives, no matter the circumstances. As we collectively move towards a brighter future, their resiliency reminds us that the heart of a community beats strongest in times of challenge.

The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time investment from the Government of Canada of $400 million to help community service organizations adapt, modernize, and be better equipped to improve the efficacy, accessibility, and sustainability of the community services they provide through the pandemic recovery and beyond.
