Donald MacMillan Memorial Bursary

Donald MacMillan was a loving girl dad of three and he spent countless hours volunteering in sports. Donald’s daughters played various sports, and he loved cheering them on and helping whenever and wherever he could. From figure skating to hockey to softball to ringette, you could see him creating community and encouraging everyone.

He had a particular love for Ringette. Donald sat on the Moncton Ringette board for over seven years and served as president for three. He coached many years at the house league and high-performance level and served on the Ringette New Brunswick board for many years.

His passion for developing the sport and empowering young women shone through in his positions over the years. The Donald MacMillan Memorial Bursary was created to remember Donald and to help young women continue their studies and be able to share their love of sport with others. He would love to see his name used to support athletes who give back to the sports that shaped them.
