September 30th: A Day of Reflection and Unity

Established in 2021, September 30th holds special significance as a day of reflection and learning in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's 80th call to action.

On this day, our community comes together to honor Residential School survivors' stories, families, and communities while embracing the rich tapestry of cultures, voices, and experiences of First Nations peoples.

To embark on our collective journey of understanding, we invite you to explore these RESOURCES that serve as reminders of remembrance and unity:

In addition to these educational resources, we can also participate in the events in our community:

The UNB National Day for Truth and Reconciliation commemorative event kicks off at 9:15 a.m., marked by raising of the Wabanaki Confederacy and Wolastoqey Nation flags at Sir Howard Douglas Hall. A meaningful ceremony will follow from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER on Saturday, September 30th, 2023.

In understanding, let us come together to reconcile and build a brighter future for all.
